Skanska EVP and general counsel steps down

Sweden-based contractor and developer Skanska announced Friday that its executive vice president and general counsel has stepped down.
Caroline Fellenius Omnell has been with Skanska for eight years, according to the release, and has been a member of the company’s Group Leadership Team since 2017.
“I want to thank Caroline for her commitment, strategic insight and development of the Legal function across the Group. Her expert legal guidance has been vital in our continued success in navigating complex market conditions and strongly contributed to driving value to the company,” Anders Danielsson, president and CEO of Skanska, said in the release. “I wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
Skanska declined to give a reason for Omnell’s departure.
Ulrika Wester, Skanska’s vice president of ethics and compliance, stepped into the role of acting executive vice president and general counsel on Friday, and will remain there until Skanska has appointed a permanent replacement.
This isn’t the first change in Skanska leadership this year.
In April, the company announced Chief Financial Officer Magnus Persson would step down. Unlike Omnell, Persson remained while the company looked for a successor. An 18-year veteran of the company, Persson is joining Evroc, a Stockholm-based technology and information company building what it claims will be Europe’s first secure, sovereign and sustainable hyperscale cloud.
Jonas Rickberg will take over as CFO by Jan. 31, the company announced in August. Rickberg is currently the CFO and executive vice president at Scania Group, a Södertälje, Sweden-based heavy commercial vehicle subsidiary of German automaker Volkswagen. Prior to his 20 years at Scania, Rickberg spent five years at Volvo.
