San Diego-based general contractor T.B. Penick & Sons topped off Las Vegas’ first all-for-rent apartment tower this month, developer Southern Land Co. announced last week.

Upon completion, the 22-story Capella in the city’s Symphony Park neighborhood will encompass 272 residences, including one- and two-bedroom homes and penthouses. Offering expansive views of the Strip, downtown and the surrounding mountains, units will feature movable kitchen islands, premium finishes and smart home technology.

The building also will include approximately 16,250 square feet of retail and dining space, according to the release, which did not provide a project cost.

Both Capella and its counterpart multifamily building Bria, a 275-unit mid-rise community also from Southern Land Co., are on track to open next summer. These two developments will expand the developer’s presence in Symphony Park, where it opened another residential project, Auric, in 2021.

“The introduction of Bria and Capella furthers our vision of making Symphony Park a premier urban neighborhood that blends luxury living with arts and culture — and the topping off of Capella signifies that we are one step closer to realizing our vision,” said Tim Downey, founder and CEO of Southern Land Co., in the release.

Bria and Capella each will offer a collection of amenities, including a resident lounge, co-working space, concierge services, a state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio and a dog run. Residents can also enjoy a resort-style swimming pool with outdoor cabanas, a hot tub and a pool lounge featuring an outdoor bar, TVs, jumbotron and grills.

The 61-acre Symphony Park neighborhood boasts prominent cultural landmarks, including The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and the Discovery Children’s Museum. Future projects coming to the area include the Las Vegas Art Museum, an AC Marriott Hotel, the Origin at Symphony Park mixed-use project and Cello Tower condominium.
